 A lecture on ‘Poshan bhi Padhai bhi’ organized at RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala

Under the aegis of Dr. Ekta Khosla, Principal, RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala and under the able guidance of Mrs. Harpreet Aneja (Head, Department of Home Science) and Mrs. Sunaina Gupta, a lecture on ‘poshan bhi Padhai bhi’ was organized in the college premises. Mrs. Rupali Mahajan, a renowned dietician of Ludhiana was the Resource Person on this occasion. 

At this juncture, the students of Home Science and Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics were given detailed information about balanced diet for healthy life style. Providing detailed information about balanced diet and Malnutrition, the resource person discussed various healthy recipes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. She also encouraged to use millets as it is beneficial for weight loss and good for diabetes and asthma patients. It is also worth mentioning here that Mrs. Rupali Mahajan has been a student of this college. Appreciating this informative lecture, Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla encouraged to organize such lectures in future as well. At this juncture Mrs. Naiya Mahajan, Ms. Amreen, Ms. Neha, Ms. Komalpreet Kaur, Ms. Suman Manikpuri, and Ms. Baljinder Kaur were also present.

 RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala celebrated 'Diwali Festival' with the slum children.

Under the patronage of Dr. Ekta Khosla, Principal, RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala and under the guidance of Mrs. Simmi Sharma (Incharge Social Service Club) 'Diwali festival' was celebrated in the slum area of ​​Batala city. The members of this club visited Sewa Bharati School in slum area of Batala. The social service club of the college distributed books, colours, stationery, food and drinks to the underprivileged children and made them aware of their social responsibilities.

While sharing her views Principal, Dr. Ekta Khosla said that these social responsibilities provide opportunities to the students to serve the society and train them to solve the challenges in the society while making them responsible citizens of the country. Ms. Rajwant Kaur, Ms. Kiran, Ms. Nandini, and Mr. Sandeep Mahajan were also present.

The students of Fashion Designing Department of RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala visited 'Block Printing Unit'











 The students of Fashion Designing Department of RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala visited 'Block Printing Unit' 

Under the patronage of Dr. Ekta Khosla, Principal, RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala and under the able guidance of Mrs. Harpreet Aneja (Head Fashion Designing Department), the students of PG department of Fashion Designing embarked on an inspiring visit to Raaz Block Printing unit at Batala under the aegis of IIC & WEE Cell of the institution. The students Immersed in the rhythmic hum of the workshop, they discovered the art of block printing -a dance of hand carved wooden blocks, vivid dyes and skilled hands bringing intricate patterns to life. 
The visit was a vivid brushstroke on their canvas, introducing them to a traditional craft that transforms fabric into stories, one print at a time.The students interacted with artisans and gained practical knowledge about traditional block printing and learnt to prepare various articles including Dupttas, tote bags, Yokes, Gents Kurtas, Table runners, cushion, in block printing patterns. On this occasion, Mrs. Naiya Mahajan, Ms. Suman and Ms. Komalpreet Kaur were also present.
