'58th Foundation Day' celebrated at RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala

'58th Foundation Day' celebrated at RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala Under the patronage of Dr. Ekta Khosla, Principal, RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala, 58th Foundation Day was celebrated. Sh. B.K. Mittal, Secretary, DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi; Sh. Rajesh Kawatra, Chairman, LAC; Sh. Bharat Bhushan Aggarwal and Sh. Vinod Sachdeva, members LAC graced the occasion. Celebrations began with the solemnization of 'Hawan-Yajna' followed by Rishi Langar. Madam Principal paid the gratitude to all the visionaries and missionaries who envisaged the dream of women education. She especially mentioned the contribution of Sh. Mahasha Gokul Chand Ji, Sh. Dewan Todar Mal, Sh. Aroor Chand Sanan, Sh. Wazir Chand Kawatra, Sh. Brij Mohan Aggarwal and Sh. S.P. Marwaha. Dr. Ekta Khosla especially paid her gratitude to president Padamshree Dr. Punam Suri Ji, DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi, for his constant support and motivation. On this pious occasion four innovative initiatives were also launched. Project 'Prayas', for offering equal opportunities to everyone, was launched with a tactile path from college entry to music department so that Divyangjan can move across the corridors without any human-aid. Project 'Urvara' was initiated to convert organic waste of the college to compost. Project 'Basera' was also launched for providing home and shelter to the avians as they are an important part of our eco-system. Besides this, 42nd Volume of College Newsletter 'Navyadrishti' was launched on the newly created 'BlogSpot space' where the online news will be displayed in future. College prospectus was also released at this auspicious juncture. Dr. Lucky Sharma conducted the stage efficiently. All the members of faculty, staff and students were present at this juncture. Mrs. Asha Mittal and Mrs. Anu Kawatra also graced the occasion with their benign presence.
