 'Poetry Recitation Competition' by Punjabi Department of RR Bawa DAV Collegiate Girls Senior Secondary School, Batala.

Under the supervision of Dr. Ekta Khosla, Principal, RR Bawa DAV Collegiate Girls Senior Secondary School, Batala and under the guidance of Dr. Lucky Sharma (HOD Punjabi department) and Lecturer Ms. Gurpreet Kaur, a 'Poetry-Recitation Competition' was organized in the campus. The competition was based on the theme 'Punjabi Culture and the Relevance of Punjabi Mother Tongue' in which the students expressed their views in a very poetic manner based on Punjabi culture, its image and the changing attitude towards mother tongue in the modern times. Mrs. Harpreet Aneja and Lecturer Ms. Ranjit Kaur acted as Judges in this competition.

In this poetry-recitation competition Kumari Palakjit Kaur (+2 Commerce), Kumari Upasana (+2 Arts) and Kumari Jashanpreet Kaur (+1 Non-Medical) bagged first, second and third positions respectively while Kumari Chahatpreet Kaur (+2 Arts), Kumari Jashanpreet Kaur (+1 Medical) and Kumari Iqbalpreet Kaur (+2 Medical) received the consolation prizes.

In her address, Dr. Lucky Sharma (HOD Punjabi Department), emphasized that the students should actively participate in such competitions for their all-round personality development and also encouraged them for participating in such competitions promoting their language and cultural heritage. On this occasion, Mrs. Manpreet Kaur, Mrs. Meenakshi Verma, Ms. Neha, Ms. Kajal, Ms. Ranjit Kaur, Mrs. Mandeep Kaur, Ms. Ravneet Kaur and Mrs. Damini Mahajan were also present. Thus, the success of this poetry recitation competition left an indelible mark in the hearts of the students.
