Under the guidance of Dr. Ekta Khosla, Principal, RR Bawa DAV Collegiate Girls Senior Secondary School, Batala and with the support of Mrs. Ekta Bhandari (HOD Science Department) and Ms. Ravneet Kaur and Mrs. Meenakshi Verma, 'World Nature Conservation Day' was observed in the school campus. On this occasion, Slogan Writing, Rangoli (related to science subject) and Poster Making Competitions were conducted.
Through these competitions, the students expressed their concern regarding the issues of Cleanliness and Environment-Conservation, Tree-Plantation and Water Conservation etc. Apart from this, a documentary, related to the 'Forest Life Conservation', was also shown to exhibit the importance of forests in our human life.
In Rangoli Competition, Kumari Sukhman and Kumari Gurleen (+1 Medical), Kumari Jasmeet and Kumari Khushleen (+2 Medical); Kumari Sukhmeen and Kumari Simranjit (+1 Medical) bagged first, second and third positions respectively while Kumari Harmanpreet and Kumari Sukhmandeep (+1 Medical) received the consolation prizes. In poster making competition, Kumari Muskan (+2 Medical); Kumari Sukhmeen (+1 Medical) and Kumari Kirandeep (+1 Medical) bagged first, second and third positions respectively while Kumari Rabinder (+1 Medical) received the consolation prize. In slogan writing competition, Kumari Sahajpreet (+1 Medical) and Kumari Pushpinder Kaur (+2 Medical) bagged first and second positions respectively.
Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla also emphasized the importance of maintaining forested areas for the benefit and sustainability of future generations and imparted a message about Nature Conservation and Tree-Plantation. She congratulated the winning students and encouraged them to participate in such competitions in future.
