'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' 'Roller Skaters' welcomed at RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala
The 'Atulaya Bharat Roller Skating Yatra' from Kashmir to Kanya Kumari received a warm welcome on arriving at RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala by Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla, Ms. Ruchika Verma, Hostel Students' and Tehsildar S. Lakhwinder Singh. In this 'Roller Skating Yatra' 15 girls and 4 boys are participating who will cover this journey from Kashmir to Kanya Kumari on roller skates. The journey started on 27 September 2022 from Srinagar's Lal Chowk (Kashmir) and will come to an end on December 25, 2022 at the Vivekananda Temple of Kanya Kumari. The main objectives of this yatra are 'Customer Interest Protection', 'Women Empowerment', 'Tree Plantation', 'Environment Protection', 'See Your Country' and 'Fit India Campaign'. The team will cover about 5000 km during 100-days journey and will pass through about 100 cities in 13 states.
The Roller Skaters halted at RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala, at night from where they departed for Amritsar. The group leader of the team, Mr. Rajesh Dogra and Ms. Soni Chaursiya stated that all the members of this journey hail from the divine city Banaras in Uttar Pradesh. Referring to the hospitality and open-hearted nature of Batala city, the members of the roller skating team added that they will never forget the friendly people of Batala city and the welcoming green fields of Punjab.
