'Painting Competition' related to 'Pariksha Pe Charcha' program organized at RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala
Under the patronage of Dr. Ekta Khosla, Principal, RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala and under the able guidance of Dr. Meenakshi Duggal (IQAC Coordinator), Mrs. Deepti Kanda (Convener) and Dr. Pankaj Mahajan (State Coordinator, 'Pariksha Pe Charcha'), a 'Painting Competition' related to 'Pariksha Pe Charcha' program was organized in the college campus as per the guidelines provided by the Central Government of India. On this occasion, Dr. Jagmohan Singh Raju (Retired IAS Former Chief Secretary, Tamilnadu & State Vice-President BJP, Punjab) graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Sh. Heera Walia (BJP President District Gurdaspur), Sh. Vinod Sharma (BJP District Secretary), Mr. Bhushan Bajaj (District Convener 'Pariksha Pe Charcha'), Mr. Paras Mahajan (Ex-Convener ABVP), Sh. Rajesh Kawatra (Chairman LAC), Smt. Meena Chandey and Smt. Ambika Khanna were among the special invitees. On this occasion, Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla welcome the eminent personalities with green planters. The ceremony started with DAV anthem. Sh. Rajesh Kawatra, Chairman LAC formally welcomed the gathering on this special occasion and encouraged the students to share their thoughts and experiences through art work as it will boost their confidence and prepare them for stress free examinations. Providing detailed information about this event Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla told that this competition is part of the larger movement 'Exam Warriors' – led by Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, to create a stress free atmosphere for youngsters.
While addressing the gathering, the chief guest, Dr. Jagmohan Singh Raju emphasized on the importance and role of teaching fraternity in shaping the students and society at large and guided the students to devote themselves in tension free atmosphere. Around 200 students of different prestigious schools of the vicinity from class 9th to 12th participated in this competition enthusiastically. Among the participants Ekamjot Singh from Laxmi Devi Sahni School got first prize, while Nehchal from St. Francis School and Gurshaan from Gems Cambridge School got 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively and 13 other students from different schools also got appreciation awards. At this juncture, all the participating students were given participation certificates.
Dr. Pankaj Mahajan, State Coordinator 'Pariksha Pe Charcha' formally presented the vote of thanks. The competition ended with National anthem. On this occasion the faculty and staff were also present.
