Webinar on 'Insights on Union Budget-2023' organized at RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala
Under the aegis of Dr. Ekta Khosla, Principal, RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala and under the able guidance of Dr. Meenakshi Duggal (HOD, PG Department of Economics), a webinar on the topic 'Insights on Union Budget-2023' was organized on the virtual mode. On this occasion, Dr. Manoranjan Sharma (Chief Economist), Infomerics Ratings, Delhi was the Keynote Speaker. Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla formally welcomed Dr. Manoranjan Sharma to discuss the Union Budget-2023 with a strong focus on higher education, healthcare and infrastructural development. Dr. Hardeep Kaur was the moderator of the webinar.
Beginning with the year of G-20 Presidency of India, the Resource Person discussed that India is growing faster in the field of research & development and artificial intelligent will play a significant role in education as well as other sectors of second largest economy of the group. He also touched upon various points as tax regime, fiscal deficit and agriculture start-ups in world's fifth largest economy.
During the question hour, many queries were put forth regarding Capex, Research and Development Expenditure, Tax Regime, Artificial Intelligence. Sh. V.M. Goel, representative of Local Industry of Batala and Member Local Advisory Committee of the college took up the issue regarding problems of industry in Batala. Despite of major scope of updation and replacement of agricultural tools all over the country the industry in Batala is neglected.
Dr. Manoranjan Sharma, who is an expert in MSMEs assured that he will take up the issues of this industry, on various platforms so that the industry gets focused attention on the Centre footings also. Dr. Meenakshi Duggal presented a formal vote of thanks to Dr. Manoranjan Sharma for providing insights on Budget-2023 and making this a successful learning opportunity. The delegates from industry, faculty members and students from the department of Economics & Commerce joined this webinar.
