 RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala organized Annual Athletic-Cum-Sports Meet 2023

The college under the patronage of Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla and under the convenership of Mrs. Baljit Kaur (Dean Sports) organized its Annual Athletic-Cum-Sports Meet for the session 2022-2023 on 11th March, 2023 in the college ground. Ms. Ashwani Gotyal, IPS, SSP, Batala graced the function as Chief Guest of the day. The institution achieved special distinction with the presence of a large gathering of esteemed LMC members and unique invitees of the city as notable guests. 

After the formal assembly of the Athletes and green welcome of the Chief Guest, the Principal accompanied the Chief Guest for Flag Hoisting ceremony which was followed by DAV Anthem. The Principal delivered the welcome address and ceremoniously introduced the Chief Guest and shared some unique achievements of the college. Mrs. Baljit Kaur, Dean Sports presented the Sports Report of the college highlighting the glorious achievements in 2022-23. The Chief Guest then declared the meet open. 

The formal introductory events of the Meet, such as, the March Past of the Athletes, Mashaal Prajwalan Ceremony and Oath taking by the participants, were the premier highlights. The main Athletic events that the students performed to exhibit their strength and stamina were: 100 mtr. Race (final), Three-Legged Race (final), Chatti Race (final), Obstacle Race, 4X100 mtr. Relay Race (final) and Slow Walk and Fast Walk Race for Guests and staff, Tug of War for Non-Teaching Male Staff members and Lemon Spoon Race for Non-Teaching Female Staff members punctuated by Group Dance and Folk songs by the students.

The address of Chief Guest was filled up with snappy pieces of advice, motivation and responsibility for the students to make life better and meaningful. She focused that all the girls should be self-dependent and education is the only means in this direction.

Sh. Rajesh Kawatra, Chairman, LAC showered his blessings on the students and staff and felicitated Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla for the success of the Sports Meet. 

All the winners of Sports and Athletic events were awarded prizes by the Chief Guest. Km. Amandeep Kaur and Km. Kajal were declared the best Athletes of the session 2022-23. The vote of thanks was presented by Ms. Ruchika Verma, department of Physical Education. The meet was formally closed after the National Anthem.

Buddish Aggarwal, Sh. Krishan Lal Gupta, CA Anjan Bansal, Mrs. Neelam Mahajan, Mrs. Anju Verma, Sh. Parminder Singh, Sh. Sanjeev Aggarwal, Mrs. Richa Mahajan and Sh. Dinesh Kumar graced the occasion.
