'World Aids Day' observed at RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala

World Aids Day was observed at RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala under the patronage of Officiating Principal Dr. Meenakshi Duggal and under the guidance of Mrs. Ekta Bhandari (Incharge, Red Ribbon Club). A seminar was organized to commemorate World Aids Day. Speaking on this occasion, Mrs. Ekta Bhandari informed the students that World Aids Day serves as a reminder of the global struggle to end this HIV related stigma and honor the lives affected by it. While sharing her views, Madam Principal stated that this is the high time that the communities should unite in the fight against HIV and show support and empathy for the victims. Poster Making Competition, Slogan Writing Competition and Essay Writing Competition were also conducted on this occasion. Mrs. Deepti Kanda (Dean, Youth Welfare Department) acted as judge for these competitions. Ms. Tanbir Kaur got first prize; Ms. Pradeep Kaur got second prize and Ms. Jashandeep Kaur got third prize in Poster Making/Slogan Writing Competition while Ms. Gurreet Kaur got first prize in Essay Writing Competition. Ms. Ranjit Kaur, Ms. Prabhjit Kaur and Ms. Nikita were also present on this occasion. The aim of this program was to sensitize the students regarding HIV/AIDS, fostering awareness and show solidarity with the victims.
