Valedictory Session of 'Seven Day Special NSS Camp' organized at RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala 

Under the stewardship of Dr. Meenakshi Duggal, Officiating Principal, RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala and under the guidance of Mr. Pankaj Kumar (NSS Coordinator) and Mrs. Naiya Mahajan (NSS Co-Coordinator), the Valedictory Session of seven-day special NSS camp was organized in the college premises. Dr. Simran Aggarwal, State President, Akhil Bhartiya Aggarwal Sammelan Mahila Wing, graced the occasion as the chief guest.

This Special NSS Camp was organized with a motto of promoting good health and well-being to insure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages. On the first day the camp initiated with the theme 'Creating a Drug Free Society for Healthy Environment' from 16.01.2026 to 22.01.2026 at Village Dharamkot Bagga. The volunteers conducted a village level survey and organized an awareness rally and cleanliness drive to sensitize the masses against Social evils and promoted the cleanliness awareness drives.

On the Second day, the NSS volunteers of the college organized a 'Free Medical Check-up Camp' for the inhabitants of Dharamkot Bagga along with the Counselling Session and Free Medication was provided to them. On this occasion, NSS Volunteers sensitized them about mandatory health care routine and regular check-ups.  

On the third day of NSS Camp, the volunteers prepared eco-friendly pots with waste plastic bottles and organized a Cleanliness Drive in the college campus. 

On the fourth day of the NSS camp a 'Seminar on Cyber Security and AI' was organized in collaboration with IIC during which the resource person Mr. Vinay Kumar sensitized the NSS Volunteers and masses about the cyber security and cyber fishing and guided them to use AI features effectively and safely.  

On the fifth day of the camp, an Extension Lecture on the Nutritious Food was organized during which Resource Person Mrs. Sunaina Gupta provided the detailed information about the Nutritious Eating Habits.  

On the sixth day of NSS camp an Extension Lecture on Social Services was conducted by Dr. Simran Aggarwal, State President, Akhil Bhartiya Aggarwal Sammelan Mahila Wing and a Workshop on Environmental Protection was conducted by Mrs. Harpreet Aneja.  

On the seventh day, a lecture Yoga for Healthy Living was organized in the morning session by Sh. Anil Gupta. A regular feature “Each One Reach One” the NSS volunteers visited Old Age Home and distributed the grocery items and other essentials. The valedictory session of the camp was conducted in the afternoon during which Dr. Simran Aggarwal, the chief guest, honoured the volunteers with the certificates. In particular, Kumari Priyanshu Chouhan, Kumari Simranjit Kaur, Kumari Himani, Kumari Harleen and Kumari Sehaj were honoured as Best NSS Volunteers of the Camp. On this occasion, the participating student volunteer Kumari Simranjit Kaur presented the details of the experiences and activities performed during the camp.

While addressing the volunteers, the Chief Guest Dr. Simran Aggarwal emphasized that these special NSS camps help the students to understand their social responsibilities towards the society. Officiating Principal Dr. Meenakshi Duggal also expressed her views on the importance of voluntary community services which help the youth in developing and shaping their personality and character. She also appreciated this initiative of NSS Department and encouraged them to organize more such community service events in future as well. At this juncture, Mrs. Ekta Bhandari, Mr. Vinay Kumar, Dr. Ritu Goswami, Mrs. Harpreet Aneja, Dr. Poonam Rani, Sh. Anil Gupta, Mrs. Sunaina Gupta, Ms. Manjot Kaur, Mrs. Mandeep Kaur, Ms. Baljinder Kaur and Ms. Komalpreet Kaur were also present along with NSS volunteers.
