Intech Utsav Week organized at RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala
The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) is organizing Intech Utsav Week from 09.03.2026 to 14.03.2026 in RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala, under the aegis of Dr. Meenakshi Duggal, Officiating Principal and under the guidance of Mr. Harish Kumar Sharma (Head, PG Department of Computer Science and IT). On the first day, the event “Creative Canvas” was organized during which on the Spot Collage Making activity was conducted. The activity aimed to encourage students to showcase their artistic talent and innovative ideas through creative expressions. The event created a lively and inspiring atmosphere on the campus and marked a wonderful beginning of Intech Utsav Week. Mrs. Deepti Kanda and Ms. Neetu Seth acted as judges during this competition. At this juncture, Kumari Riya and Kumari Jasmeet Kaur (BCA Sem. VI) got first position jointly while Kumari Megha Ray and Kumari Gurleen Kaur (BCA Sem. II) bagged second position jointly.
On the second day of the event titled “Key Stroke Challenge (Typing Skills)” was organized during which students’ typing speed, accuracy and overall computer proficiency was tested. A large number of students enthusiastically participated in the competition and showcased their typing skills. Participants were evaluated on the basis of typing speed, accuracy and error-free content within the given time limit. The challenge encouraged students to improve their digital skills and highlighted the importance of efficiency in the modern technological era. The atmosphere during the competition remained highly energetic as students competed to achieve the best typing speed and accuracy. In this competition, Kumari Gurpreet Kaur (M.Sc. IT Sem. IV) got first position while Kumari Harleen Kaur (B.Sc IT Sem. II) and Kumari Manpreet Kaur (M.Sc. IT Sem. IV) achieved second and third positions respectively.
On the third day of the event "The Debug Challenge" was successfully organized in the college campus to enhance the technical and analytical abilities of students. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students who showcased their programming knowledge and problem-solving skills. The competition aimed to develop logical thinking and coding efficiency among participants by providing them with faulty programs that required debugging within a limited time. Students from different classes actively participated in the event. During the challenge, participants were given programming codes containing logical and syntax errors which they had to identify and correct within the stipulated time. The activity encouraged students to apply their theoretical knowledge of programming in a practical environment. In this competition, Kumari Amandeep Kaur (BCA Sem. VI), Kumari Harleen Kaur (BCA Sem. II) and Kumari Palwinder Kaur (BCA Sem. II) got Appreciation awards respectively.
On the fourth day of the event "The Knowledge Knockout" competition was organized in the college campus. The event aimed to test students’ general knowledge, analytical thinking and quick-response abilities through an exciting quiz-based competition. The participants showcased remarkable presence of mind, teamwork and confidence while participating in programming concepts and technology. The Knowledge Knockout proved to be a thrilling battle of minds where teams competed with great enthusiasm. During this competition, Team A, consisting of Kumari Megha (BCA Sem. II) and Kumari Pawandeep (BCA Sem. VI) got first position, Team E, consisting of Kumari Jobanpreet Kaur (B.Sc. IT Sem. II) and Kumari Muskanpreet Kaur (BCA Sem. II) got second position while Team D, consisting of Kumari Amandeep Kaur (BCA Sem. VI) and Kumari Navita (BCA Sem. VI) got third position. The winners were appreciated and awarded for their outstanding knowledge and quick thinking.
On the fifth day, "The Word Artistry Contest" was organized in the college campus. During this event, a digital Pamphlet Making Competition was organized to encourage students to showcase their creativity and technical skills using MS-Word. The participants designed attractive pamphlets using various features of MS-Word. The judgement was given on the basis of creativity, design, presentation and effective use of MS-Word tools. In this competition, Kumari Harleen Kaur (B.Sc. IT Sem. II) got first position, Kumari Gurleen Kaur (BCA Sem. VI) got second position while Kumari Purti (B.Sc. Comp. Sci. Sem. II) got third position.
On the sixth day of a college level competition “Visual Web Wizard” was organized in the computer lab to promote web development skills among students. The competition focused on designing and developing web applications using C# language and the .NET Framework. Participants were asked to create simple web interfaces and applications using the Visual Web tools provided in the .NET environment. The students demonstrated their knowledge of programming, web design, and problem-solving skills. The projects were evaluated based on creativity, functionality, coding skills, and overall presentation. In this competition, Kumari Gurpreet Kaur and Kumari Gurleen Kaur (M.Sc. IT Sem. IV) got first position, Kumari Naman Lakhanpal and Kumari Simranpreet Kaur (M.Sc. IT Sem. IV) got second position while Kumari Himanshi and Kumari Jasmeet Kaur (BCA Sem. VI) got third position. At this juncture, Mr. Vinay Kumar, Mrs. Anu Vij, Mrs. Manjot Kaur, Ms. Simranjeet Kaur, Ms. Kawaljeet Kaur, Mrs. Kirandeep Kaur, Mrs. Amarjeet Kaur and Mrs. Ramandeep Kaur were also present.
