 RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala organized a Field Visit at Shaheed-E-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh Museum

The Department of History of RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala organized an enriching educational field visit to the Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh Museum, Nawanshahr under the aegis of Dr. Meenakshi Duggal, Officiating Principal and under the guidance of Mrs. Mandeep Kaur with an aim to provide students with a deeper understanding of India’s freedom struggle and the life of the great revolutionary S. Bhagat Singh.

The museum, situated in Shaheed S. Bhagat Singh’s ancestral village Khatkar Kalan, stands as a significant historical site dedicated to preserving the legacy of the martyrs of India’s independence movement. It houses rare photographs, personal belongings, documents and relics associated with Shaheed S. Bhagat Singh, as well as fellow revolutionaries Shaheed Sh. Rajguru and Sh. Sukhdev. During the visit, students explored various galleries showcasing the revolutionary’s life, his role in the freedom struggle and the sacrifices made for the nation. The exhibits, including preserved artefacts and historical records, offered a vivid glimpse into the era of British rule and inspired a sense of patriotism among the students. 

Expressing her views on this occasion, Dr. Meenakshi Duggal, Officiating Principal stated that these visits prove to be both educational and inspiring, helping students connect classroom learning with real-life historical experiences. The field visit concluded with students expressing their gratitude for the opportunity to visit such a prestigious heritage site. At this juncture, Mrs. Rupali Aggarwal and Mrs. Navneet Kaur accompanied the students.
