RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala organized ‘Commerce Fest-2026’
The Department of Commerce of RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala successfully organized a vibrant and engaging Commerce Fest-2026, under the aegis of Dr. Meenakshi Duggal, Officiating Principal and under the guidance of Mrs. Supriya Duggal (Head, PG Department of Commerce) in the college premises. This fest provided a dynamic platform for students to showcase their talent, creativity and business acumen.
The event commenced with a Quiz Competition, where the students enthusiastically participated and showcased their understanding of business trends and general awareness. In this competition, Ms. Chetna, Ms. Manpreet Kaur, Ms. Sehaj and Ms. Simranpreet Kaur got first position while Ms. Komal, Ms. Harpreet, Ms. Harshdeep, Ms. Jasnoor, Ms. Shivani, Ms. Archita, Ms. Neha, Ms. Huner, Ms. Sarabpreet and Ms. Sandeep got second position. Ms. Smile, Ms. Gurleen, Ms. Anureet and Ms. Ekta got third position respectively. This was followed by Train Your Brain Competition, where students spoke confidently on given topics without prior preparation. The activity highlighted students’ presence of mind, communication skills and ability to express ideas effectively. In this competition, Ms. Deeksha got first position, Ms. Snehdeep Kaur got second position while Ms. Gurpreet Kaur and Ms. Mehak got third position jointly. Adding a creative flair to the fest, the Ad Mad Show captivated the audience with innovative advertisements presented by students. In this competition, Ms. Kasish Khosla, Ms. Mehak Verma and Ms. Mandeep Kaur got first position while Ms. Iram Sharma, Ms. Mansi, Ms. Vaidika, Ms. Muskan and Ms. Disha got second position respectively. The highlight of the fest was the Modelling Competition on Sustainable Development to develop critical thinking while tackling real world issues like resource management.
Dr. Meenakshi Duggal, Officiating Principal of the college appreciated the efforts of the Commerce Department and highlighted the importance of such events in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world applications. Overall, the Commerce Fest-2026 proved to be an enriching experience, fostering learning, creativity and healthy competition among students. At this juncture, Dr. Hardeep Kaur, Mrs. Rajni Vij, Ms. Nikita, Ms. Manpreet Kaur and Ms. Shuchi were also present.
