The Department of Fine Arts successfully organized an engaging demonstration on Acrylics on Canvas under the guidance of Mrs. Deepti Kanda (Head, Department of Fine Arts) providing students with a valuable opportunity to explore modern painting techniques and creative expression. Ms. Mehakdeep Kaur, student President of Fine Art Club welcomed introduced the resource person.
The session was conducted by the expert artist Mrs. Rajwinder Kaur, working as a PGT in Dr. DRB DAV Centenary Public School, Batala who demonstrated various acrylic painting methods, including colour blending, layering, brush handling and texture creation. Students keenly observed the step-by-step process of transforming a blank canvas into a vibrant artwork, gaining practical insights into composition and colour harmony. The demonstration emphasized the versatility and quick-drying nature of acrylic colours, making them an ideal medium for contemporary artists. Students actively interacted with the resource person, clarifying their doubts and learning innovative approaches to enhance their artistic skills.
Expressing her views at this juncture, Dr. Meenakshi Duggal, Officiating Principal, appreciated the initiative and highlighted the importance of such practical sessions in nurturing creativity and technical proficiency among students. Faculty members also encouraged students to experiment with different styles and techniques in their future projects.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Anjali, student Secretary Fine Art Club, acknowledging the efforts of the resource person, Mrs. Rajwinder Kaur and thanked her for the valuable guidance provided by her. The demonstration proved to be an inspiring and enriching experience for all participants.
