Innovation and Creativity Day was organized by the Department of Fashion Designing, in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), under the aegis of Dr. Meenakshi Duggal, Officiating Principal and under the guidance of Mrs. Harpreet Aneja (Head, PG Department of Fashion Designing). Various competitions were organized on this occasion. The students of Fashion Designing Department participated with great enthusiasm showcasing their creativity and a strong active learning spirit. The event aimed to encourage students to explore their creative potential and develop innovative thinking in the field of fashion designing.
The students of B.Sc. (Fashion Designing) Sem. II showcased their skills in craft revival and presented the beautiful samples of Chikankari and Kantha Embroidery. Ms. Rajinder Kaur bagged first position, Ms. Komalpreet Kaur bagged second position and Ms. Kajalpreet Kaur bagged third position in this competition. The students of B.Sc. (Fashion Designing) Sem. IV presented eco-friendly textile practice through eco-dying using natural material like onion peels and other plant based sources to create sustainable fabric samples. Ms. Gurleen Kaur got first position, Ms. Pawandeep Kaur got second position and Ms. Parveen Devi got third position in this contest. The students of B.Sc. (Fashion Designing) Sem. VI demonstrated remarkable creativity in the upcycling transformation of old garments and waste materials into stylish innovative outfits. Ms. Muskan Thakur secured first position, Ms. Himani secured second position and Ms. Khushpreet Kaur secured third position while Ms. Isha got Appreciation Award. The winners were awarded with certificates.
Dr. Meenakshi Duggal, Officiating Principal appreciated the efforts of the department and congratulated all the prize winners.
