 The PG Department of Fashion Designing of RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala organized two days' workshop at Raaz Blocks Unit, Batala


Under the patronage of Dr. Meenakshi Duggal, Officiating Principal, RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala and under the guidance of Mrs. Harpreet Aneja (Head, PG Department of Fashion Designing), organized two days' workshop at Raaz Blocks, Batala for the students of B.Sc. (Fashion Designing) Semester I and Diploma in Stitching and Tailoring Sem. I. The students explored the fascinating world of traditional block printing, gaining hands-on insights into techniques, tools and production processes. The workshop enhanced their practical knowledge and connected classroom learning with real industry exposure and proved to be a truly enriching experience fostering creativity, skill development and appreciation for textile craftsmanship.


During this workshop, the students closely observed the intricate process of block printing, fabric designing, and dyeing methods. The experts at the unit demonstrated various traditional and modern techniques used in creating designer fabrics, giving students valuable insights into the production process. It also helped bridge the gap between theoretical learning and practical application.


On the second day of two-days workshop, an insightful seminar on the theme “Block Printing: Heritage in Every Motive” for the students of Fashion Designing department. On this occasion, Ms. Satinder Kaur student President and Ms. Jasmeen Kaur Secretary of Fashion Designing Club welcomed the resource person.


The session was delivered by Ms. Surbhi from Raaz Blocks, Batala, who shared her expertise and practical knowledge about the traditional art of block printing. She highlighted the historical significance, intricate techniques and contemporary relevance of this heritage craft in the modern fashion industry. Students actively participated in the session and gained valuable insights into the process, design development, and application of block printing in textile products. 


On this occasion, Dr. Meenakshi Duggal, Officiating Principal, encouraged the students to explore innovative ideas as such educational workshops play a significant role in enhancing the skills and creativity of students. At this juncture, Mrs. Naiya Mahajan, Ms. Neha, Ms. Komalpreet Kaur, Ms. Kamaljit Kaur, Mrs. Sonia and Ms. Baljinder Kaur were also present.
