 'Punjabi Maah' celebrated at RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala.

Under the patronage of Dr. Ekta Khosla, Principal, RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala and under the guidance of Dr. Lucky Sharma (HoD Punjabi Department), 'Punjabi Maah' was celebrated in the college campus. On this occasion, Mr. Naresh Aggarwal, Past International President of Lions Club, Batala graced the occasion as the chief guest. Ms. Padmaja (President of Jot Lions Club), Mr. Rajesh Kawatra (Chairman), Mr. Rakesh Goel, Mr. V.M. Goel, Mr. Vinod Sachdeva, Mr. Ashwani Marwaha, Mr. K.L. Gupta, Mr. Surinder Aggarwal, Mr. Davinder Arora and Mr. Rajesh Marwaha, member of the Local Advisory Committee of the College made special appearances on this occasion. Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla formally green welcomed the Chief Guest with a beautiful planter.

The ceremony started with 'Jyoti Prajwalan' followed by DAV Gaan. While addressing the gathering, Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla said that the college is ready to touch the heights of success under the guidance of Padamshree Dr. Punam Suri Ji (President, DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi) and is always at the fore-front in the field of providing quality education, not only to the girls of local vicinity, but also to the students coming from far off areas. After this, the chief guest Mr. Naresh Aggarwal and Sh. Rajesh Kawatra shared their views and added that it is duty of human beings to contribute as much as possible for the benefit of their society and country at large. They also acknowledged influence of Mahasha Gokul Chand Ji's personality that have always inspired them to contribute for the betterment of college and the city.

While celebrating 'Punjabi Maah' various items related to Punjabi folk-life such as Phulkari, Charkha, folk-instruments were presented beautifully. The students also performed some cultural programs like folk songs and traditional dances on these folk instruments. On this occasion, an exhibition was also organized by the 'Department of Fashion Designing' and 'Youth Welfare Department' where handmade jewellery items, Kaftan, Knitted Garments, Tie & Dye articles and Tray Coasters were exhibited which were thoroughly appreciated by the eminent personalities present there. 

Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla presented mementos and souvenirs to the guests and conveyed her thanks for attending this program and making it a great success. On this occasion Dr. Indra Rani, Ms. Udesh Kumari, Mrs. Harpreet Aneja, Mrs. Naiya Mahajan, Mrs. Sunaina Gupta, Mrs. Kulwinder Kaur, Dr. Navneet Kaur, Ms. Suman and Ms. Damanpreet Kaur were also present.
