 'Shikshak Samman Ceremony' organized at RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala.

Under the patronage of Dr. Ekta Khosla, Principal, RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala and under the convenership of Mrs. Ekta Bhandari (Head Chemistry Dept.), 'Shikshak Samman Ceremony' was organized in the college premises. Dr. Adarsh Pal Vig, Chairman, Punjab Pollution Control Board (Punjab) graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Sh. Bal Krishan Mittal, Secretary, DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi was the guest of honour. Sh. Rajesh Kawatra (Chairman, Local Advisory Committee); Sh. Rakesh Goel (Member, Local Committee) and Sh. Krishan Lal Gupta were also present on the occasion. Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla formally welcomed the guests by presenting them planters.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal, Dr. Ekta Khosla shared that the selection of the honoured teachers has been made on the basis of a survey conducted with the students. The students were asked to share the name of the teacher who inspired them the most for their career in higher education. 52 teachers were shortlisted to be honoured for being the best mentors / guides. In this event, 02 teachers from the college were also awarded who have served the institution dedicatedly and committedly for more than 25 years. Under this head, Dr. Meenakshi Duggal and Dr. Lucky Sharma from the college were also honoured.  

Dr. Adarsh Pal Vig shared his views and said that we should become gurus not teachers because the teacher's personality influences the student. Talking about the environment, he said that we should start saving the environment from ourselves. He encouraged to stick to the mother tongues. On this occasion, Sh. Rajesh Kawatra, Chairman, Local Advisory Committee, extended the vote of thanks.
