 “Dheeyan Di Lohri” festival celebrated with great zeal at RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala.

Under the patronage of Dr. Ekta Khosla, Principal, RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala and under the guidance of Dr. Indra Rani (Program Incharge), “Dheeyan Di Lohri” festival was celebrated. On this occasion a gender equity initiative was taken with a renewed sense of hope and joy, great zeal and enthusiasm.

While following the traditions "Bhugga" was burnt and the song "Sundar-Mundariye" was sung by RR Bawa family. Festival 'Lohri' was celebrated meticulously through spectacular performances like – singing & dancing on folk jingles by the students. Staff and students presented melodious ' Boliyaan' and enjoyed delightful cuisines along with groundnuts, peanuts and popcorns. The music department presented a melodious song on this occasion. All the gathering took rounds around ‘Bhugga’ and poured groundnuts, rewri, corn phullas, chirwarha, etc. in the holy fire. All prayed for the welfare, happiness, peace and progress of the country and best wishes were offered mutually. 

Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla extended her heartiest wishes on this auspicious occasion to the students and the staff. Dr. Meenakshi Duggal, Mrs. Deepti Kanda, Mrs. Simmi Sharma, Mrs. Supriya Duggal, Mr. Harish Kumar Sharma, Mrs. Ekta Bhandari, Ms. Udesh Kumari, Ms. Neetu Seth, Dr. Ritu Goswami, Mrs. Simranjit Kaur, Mr. Vinay Kumar, Mr. Pankaj Kumar, Mrs. Harpreet Aneja, Dr. Poonam Rani, Mr. Veekesh Kumar, Mrs. Nirmal Devi and Mr. Bachan Lal were also present on this occasion.
