'Hindi Diwas' celebrated at RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala.
Under the aegis of Dr. Ekta Khosla, Principal, RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala, and under the able guidance of Dr. Lucky Sharma (Head Department of Hindi) and Dr. Sohan Lal, 'Hindi Diwas' was celebrated on September 14, 2024 in the college campus to mark the significance of Hindi Language and to promote it use across the nation. On this occasion, Dr. Sohan Lal extended his heartfelt wishes on Hindi Diwas and discussed the development journey of Hindi language. Thereafter, Dr. Indra Rani (Dean Youth Welfare) encouraged the use of Hindi as a medium to connect people across the country, enhancing national unity amidst the linguistic diversity of India. On this occasion, poster making, slogan writing and essay writing competitions were organized in the college campus, in which the students participated with joy and enthusiasm. In Slogan Writing Competition, Miss Neetu Kaur got first position, Miss Komal got second position and Miss Jashanpreet Kaur got third position respectively while Miss Sandeep Kaur was awarded the consolation prize. In Poster Making Competition, Miss Jyoti and Miss Arshdeep Kaur got first position jointly, Miss Mahekpreet Kaur got second position while Miss Komal and Miss Jashanpreet Kaur got third position jointly. In Essay Writing Competition, Miss Pulwinder Kaur got first position, Miss Neetu Kaur and Miss Ravneet Kaur got second position jointly while Miss Kamalpreet Kaur got third position. At this juncture, principal Dr. Ekta Khosla Congratulated everyone on Hindi Diwas and stated that Hindi is more than just a language; it reflects the rich cultural and traditional heritage of India. She further stressed that Hindi Diwas fosters a sense of pride in Hindi language, encouraging its preservation and promoting its use in education, governance and every day communication. She also encouraged the participants by giving them prizes and certificates. In these competitions, Mrs. Deepti Kanda, Dr. Indra Rani and Dr. Sohan Lal acted as judges respectively. On this occasion, Mrs. Ekta Bhandari, Mrs. Supriya Duggal, Dr. Navneet Kaur, Mrs. Bhawna Kashyap, Mrs. Rupali Agarwal, Mrs. Rajni, Ms. Anchal, Ms. Vishakha, Ms. Ruchika Verma and other students of the college were also present.
