‘Social Internship Program’ for students under 'Paryavaran Sanrakshan Gatividhi' organized at RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala.
Institutional Innovation Council of RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala in collaboration with 'Haryawal Punjab' organized Social Internship Program under 'Paryavaran Sanrakshan Gatividhi'. Eminent resource persons emphasized on environmental conservation. On this occasion, Sh. J.P. Shoor (Honorary Treasure, DAVCMC, New Delhi) delivered the keynote address. Sh. Rajesh Kawatra (Chairman, LAC), Dr. Sanjeev Bhalla (Ex. Deputy Director, Health Department, Punjab), Sh. Ashok Aggarwal, S. Jagmohan Singh, Sh. Jatinder Kad, Sh. Nipun Aggarwal were among the eminent guests.
In this program, Prof. (Dr.) Adarshpal Vig, Ex-Chairman, Punjab Pollution Board shared his views regarding environmental conservation and motivated to save water, plant trees and not to use plastic. S. Rajbir Singh (Director Agriculture Pingalwada) discussed about agriculture and stressed on the need to stop pollution. S. Gurmukh Singh (President Awardee, Millet Expert) and Dr. Meenakshi Ratra (Principal VMS, Batala) presented their views on the importance of having healthy eating habits and emphasized on including millets and coarse grains in diet chart.
On this occasion, certificates were also distributed to the participants present in this training camp. The program was also attended by Principals and teaching staff of various schools. Officiating Principal Dr. Meenakshi Duggal appreciated the guests and the faculty members Dr. Lucky Sharma (Program Coordinator) & Dr. Ritu Goswami (Program Convener) for their efforts and motivated them to organize such programs in the future as well.
Overall, the program aimed to inspire students to take proactive steps towards environmental conservation and promote sustainability in their communities.
