A seminar on ‘International Mother Language Day’ organized at RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala.

Under the stewardship of Dr. Meenakashi Duggal, Officiating Principal, RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala and under the guidance of Dr. Lucky Sharma (Head, PG Department of Punjabi), in collaboration with Punjabi Sahit Sabha and Jagat Punjabi Sabha, Canada, a seminar dedicated to 'Punjabi Maat Boli' was organized in the college premises dedicated to International Mother Language Day. In which, S. Ajaib Singh Chatha (Chairman, International Jagat Punjabi Sabha, Canada) was the chief guest and S. Sardoor Singh Thiara (President, International Jagat Punjabi Sabha, Canada) along with Principal Shalini Dutta, Principal Sharanjit Kaur, Dr. Satinder Kaur Kahlon, Mrs. Balwinder Kaur Chatha, Mrs. Ranjit Bajwa and other eminent personalities of the city graced the occasion. The Hon’ble guests were ceremonially welcomed by officiating Principal, Dr. Meenakshi Duggal with green Planters. 

The program began with lighting the lamp. On this occasion, Dr. Lucky Sharma shared her views and provided the detailed information about the history of Punjabi Language and inspired to stay connected with our mother language. Dr. Satinder Kaur Kahlon welcomed the guests and said that mother language has a valuable contribution in social development. She also highlighted the importance of preserving and promoting Punjabi as our mother language. She emphasized that language is not merely a medium of communication but a reflection of our identity, traditions and values. On this occasion, all the eminent personalities along with the guests and students took an oath to remain committed to the promotion and dissemination of Punjabi language.

While sharing her views on this occasion, Officiating Principal Dr. Meenakshi Duggal, stated that Punjabi language has a glorious history and the college will always contribute to the promotion and development of this language. 

On this occasion, S. Sardoor Singh Thiara, Principal Shalini Dutta and Principal Sharanjit Kaur, S. Parminder Singh Sandhu presented their views on Punjabi mother language. Poster making and Calligraphy competitions related to Mother Language Day were also organized at this juncture. The winners of these competitions were encouraged by giving prizes and certificates. On this occasion, Mrs. Kulwinder Kaur, Dr. Navneet Kaur, Ms. Gurpreet Kaur, Mrs. Navjot Kaur, Mrs. Rajwant Kaur and Ms. Opinder Kaur were present.
